At Jackpot Veterinary Center, we understand the deep bond you share with your pet, and we are here to support you through the difficult decision of end-of-life care. When the time comes to say goodbye, we offer both euthanasia and aquamation services, providing a compassionate, peaceful process for your beloved companion.
Euthanasia and Aquamation Services at Jackpot Veterinary Center
When you decide that euthanasia is the most compassionate choice for your pet, we strive to make the process as comforting as possible. Our goal is to create a peaceful and loving environment where your pet can pass with dignity.
- Same-Day Appointments: If you’ve made the decision to euthanize, we will make every effort to accommodate you with a same-day appointment. We want to ensure that you and your pet receive the care you need when it matters most.
- Private, Compassionate Care: Upon arrival, you will be placed in a private exam room as quickly as possible. If you’d like to discuss any aspect of the process with our veterinarian before proceeding, please let our receptionist know. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions and make sure you're comfortable with the process.
- The Procedure: To ensure your pets comfort, a team member will briefly take your pet to treatment to place a catheter. You will be able to spend 10-15 minutes of quiet time with your pet. When you are ready, the veterinarian will administer the euthanasia drug, ensuring a peaceful and pain-free passing. Afterward, you're welcome to spend additional private time with your pet if you'd like.
Aquamation Services
In addition to euthanasia, Jackpot Veterinary Center is proud to offer aquamation services through our partnership with AQUACROSSINGS. Aquamation is a gentle, eco-friendly alternative to traditional flame-based cremation. This water-based process, scientifically known as Alkaline Hydrolysis, mimics natural decomposition, providing a compassionate choice for honoring your pet.
What is Aquamation?
Aquamation is a process that uses water, warmth, and alkaline chemicals to accelerate natural tissue breakdown. This process is environmentally friendly and results in 20% more remains than flame cremation. The remains are a soft, sand-like powder instead of ash.
Tracking and Remains
We use a stainless steel identification tag to ensure that your pet’s remains are carefully tracked throughout the process. Depending on the type of aquamation you choose (private or communal) your pet’s remains will be returned in a transitional urn, with a paw print, fur clipping, grief support resources and a tree planted in their honor or all remains will be returned to the earth and a tree planted in their honor. This process is usually done in 1-2 weeks of the service.
Other Options
If you prefer to bury your pet or arrange for cremation through another service, we are happy to provide euthanasia only. Please contact our team to discuss other options in more detail.
