Large Animal Team

Shayla Bristow, Large Animal Technician

Born and raised in Tombstone, Arizona, Shayla is a Junior at the University of Arizona majoring in Veterinary Science. She has plans of attending Veterinary School and hopes to open her own mobile practice some day. Shayla enjoys exercising, going on hikes with her dogs, horseback riding, and spending time with her friends and family.

Kelsey Thoms, Large Animal Technician

Kelsey is a licensed veterinary technician from Reno Nevada. She moved out to Tucson, Arizona in May of 2023. She grew up around horses and started riding when she was about 8 years old. Her love for horses inspired her love for veterinary medicine and she decided to go follow that path. Her main interests include neonates, critical care, and anesthesia. She has devoted her time and training to becoming an anesthesia technician and loves learning about the many different aspects of that field. She is most passionate about the patients and making sure they are always cared for to the best level. In her free time she enjoys hiking with her dog Bentley, fishing, and riding her horse Griz. She competes in ranch sorting and is also starting to do some breakaway roping. Kelsey can’t wait to see what Arizona has to offer and she is very excited to be a part of the Jackpot Veterinary team.

Cole Lowry, Large Animal Technician

Cole was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. He grew up performing in the East coast ISHS riding program learning how to ride and care for horses. He also found love for the smaller animals by having and caring for all different types of pets ranging from gerbils, fish, lizards, tortoises, bunnies, cats, dogs, and even exotic birds. He moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2016 where he now calls home. Currently he is enrolled at Pima Community College working to get his bachelor’s degree in Biology Science. When he is not working at the clinic or cleaning stalls at his local barn he likes to spend his free time with friends, family and his pets.

Jeanette Felix, Large Animal Receptionist

Jeanette was born and raised in Tucson and is proud to call herself a true animal lover at heart. Jeanette has a whole zoo of animals at home, including 4 cattle dogs, 1 cat, and 6 horses. If she’s not caring for clients and animals at Jackpot, you can probably find her out ranching and roping with her husband. Jeanette loves getting to interact with all the different types of animals she works with and is excited to be a part of the Jackpot Family.
